Witkoff and Kushner discussed next steps on Ukraine in Moscow

Special envoys of U.S. President Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The White House said the sides discussed next steps and expect to announce them in the coming weeks.
The message from Axios journalist Barak Ravid, which Interfax paraphrased citing an unnamed White House representative, concerns Witkoff and Kushner’s visit to Moscow to discuss initiatives for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. According to the source, the U.S. president’s special envoys spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The White House claims that the meeting was linked to advancing U.S. President Donald Trump’s plans to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. It also said that the sides discussed specific initiatives concerning the next steps.
The U.S. administration also said that the next steps are planned to be announced in the coming weeks. According to Ravid’s source, staff from the U.S. National Security Council, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and the U.S. Department of State traveled to Moscow together with Witkoff and Kushner.
The same source added that the American delegation expects equally productive meetings in Ukraine on Sunday. The message does not specify which initiatives are being referred to.
