Two Rosneft refineries in Syzran and Saratov halted processing after drone attacks

According to Reuters, citing its sources, both facilities stopped operating during the past week. The Syzran refinery shut down on Tuesday, and the Saratov refinery — last Friday.

The Saratov plant had already not been operating for several weeks after the drone attack on August 2. According to Reuters, it was supposed to resume operations on September 10–11.

At the Syzran refinery, several facilities were damaged, including the primary oil processing unit. Its repair may take at least a month.

At the same facility, another unit was already under repair after the previous drone attack in July. Reuters writes that the shutdown of these refineries will likely intensify the fuel crisis inside Russia.

In September, according to the publication, half of the largest Russian refineries producing diesel fuel sharply reduced or completely stopped oil processing.
