Lida Moniava has been formally charged in the case over army «fakes»

Lida Moniava, founder of the “House with a Lighthouse” hospice and head of the eponymous foundation, has been formally charged in the case over army “fakes”. Moniava’s support group said: “Today Lida was formally charged in the final version; the case materials will soon be sent to court”.

On September 3, the court placed Moniava under a ban on certain actions for two months. She is prohibited from going outside after 8:00 p.m., communicating with witnesses in the case, and using the internet.

On September 2, the head of the “House with a Lighthouse” foundation was taken to the Investigative Committee in the case over army “fakes”, and her home was searched.

In February 2026, Moniava was fined 45,000 rubles under the article on “discrediting” the army because of three Telegram posts. The basis for the criminal case was a post published in Moniava’s Telegram channel on February 24, 2023, on the first anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion: it contained a call to donate money for the needs of Ukrainian refugees.
