John Ternus has led Apple, Tim Cook became chairman of the board of directors

Before his appointment, Ternus was Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering. The company also noted that he played an important role in the launch of the iPad and AirPods, as well as in the development of several generations of iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch.

Cook has worked at Apple since 1998. During his leadership, the company’s market capitalization exceeded four trillion dollars, and the stock rose by 2258%.

In a farewell letter to employees, Cook thanked the team and recalled Steve Jobs, quoting his words about striving to “leave a mark on the universe”. He also launched Apple Watch, AirPods, and Apple Vision Pro, as well as the iCloud, Apple Pay, Apple TV, and Apple Music services. Ternus became Apple’s second CEO after Jobs.
