In the Yakut village of Khoro, the school and kindergarten directors were dismissed after the elections

According to The Moscow Times, on September 29 in the Yakut village of Khoro, school director Vladislav Ivanov and kindergarten director Sargylana Evdokimova were dismissed.

Ivanov had led the school for the third year. Evdokimova had worked in the education system for 34 years.

Her employment contract was terminated under Article 278 of the Labor Code, which allows a contract to be ended by decision of the authorized body. Evdokimova’s daughter, Miya Oboeva, said there were no complaints or grievances about her mother’s work.

The dismissals coincided with the voting results at precincts No. 93 and No. 94 in Khoro. There, United Russia received about 34% of the vote — roughly ten percentage points less than the Yakutia average — while the CPRF won more than half of the votes.

Local authorities did not explain the reasons for the personnel decisions. The dismissals came amid statements by Russian authorities about the transparency of the elections: at the first session of the new State Duma, Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin spoke of “real democracy” and openness, while independent analysts questioned the official results.
