Farage plans trip to France by the end of October to meet Le Pen

A Reform UK spokesperson said that Nigel Farage plans to travel to France by the end of October and meet with Marine Le Pen, head of the French far-right National Rally (RN). According to him, the trip will be a return visit after RN leader Jordan Bardella’s visit to Birmingham.

On Friday, Bardella spoke at the Reform UK conference in Birmingham, and then Farage and Bardella signed a meter-long document on stage calling for the deportation of all migrants who illegally crossed the English Channel back to France. The details of this agreement have not yet been finalized.

The same spokesperson added that Farage expects to make a series of trips to European right-wing leaders by the end of 2026. The meeting with Le Pen will continue their long-standing contacts: in 2017, Farage interviewed her for his radio program.

Farage said on Friday that he would not make a deal with the National Front founded by Jean-Marie Le Pen. At the same time, he said that Le Pen’s current party had moved away from the “extreme elements”, although in 2024 he called its economic program a “disaster” for France and even worse for the economy than the current government.
