At the opening of the XII Moscow International Forum “Religion and Peace” in Moscow, former CEO of the Spas TV channel Boris Kostenko spoke about a photograph of a killed fighter from the far-right Española brigade with the call sign “Kazak”, which, according to him, “started to exude myrrh”. He said the picture was in the unit’s office in Moscow.

This was reported by Agentstvo: Kostenko was speaking at the forum opening and at the end of his speech called the episode a “unique event”.

He said: “Yesterday I received a photograph showing our fighter, his call sign is ‘Kazak.’ He is from the Española battalion”. According to Kostenko, this fighter died “by leading a drone away from his comrades”.

Kostenko added that the deceased was survived by a wife and child, and that the photograph was placed in the unit’s office in Moscow. He claimed that the picture “started to exude myrrh” and became covered with “tiny drops of peace”.

According to him, this indicates the “presence of God in our world right now, here”. Kostenko himself previously served as CEO of the Spas TV channel, and is now an adviser to the state secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, Sergei Glazyev.

“Española” is a brigade formed after the invasion of Ukraine from far-right football fans. According to the same report, serviceman Vadim Kazak died in September 2024 near Chasiv Yar, and the “Religion and Peace” forum has been held since 2013 with the support of the presidential domestic policy directorate, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Moscow government.
