Zelensky said there were two attempts by Russian drones to attack his plane
Private draft
Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian drones twice tried to attack his plane. According to him, the first episode was on September 8 during departure to Oslo, and the second — when he was returning to Kyiv from Chișinău, the capital of Moldova.
In a conversation with CBS News (USA), Zelensky said that there were two episodes involving his presidential plane. The first time, according to him, a drone tried to attack the plane on September 8 during departure to Oslo.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre had previously said that the drone “almost shot down” the presidential plane. Later, an unidentified employee of the Office of the President of Ukraine told AFP (France) that a Russian drone had indeed entered the airspace of Moldova and Romania, but called the claim of direct danger to Zelensky “an exaggeration”.
According to Zelensky, a few days later he was returning to Kyiv from Chișinău, the capital of Moldova, when one or two Russian drones again entered Moldovan airspace. This episode had not been reported before.
In the same conversation, Zelensky also linked the strike by “Geran” drones on the Kyiv-Warsaw railway line to the train carrying a large delegation of European politicians, and said that Americans were among the passengers. According to him, the Russian command knew about the delegation and ordered a strike on a nearby point. Previously, journalists had written only about European officials who were on that train.
