Zelensky announced the first combat use of FP-7
Private draft
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the first combat use of the FP-7 tactical ballistic missile. He also said that Ukraine will produce such missiles serially, but did not disclose details of the strike.
As The Insider writes, Zelensky called FP-7 “Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile” on Telegram and added: “Thank you for the result”.
Zelensky said that Ukraine will produce such missiles serially. He did not provide any other details about the strike itself.
Fire Point presented the FP-7 missile in 2025, and in February 2026 showed a video of a test launch from a ground-based launcher.
According to the stated specifications, FP-7 can hit ground targets at a distance of up to 200 km, carry a warhead weighing up to 150 kg, fly at an altitude of up to 65 km, reach a maximum speed of 1500 m/s, and have an accuracy of up to 14 m.
In September, Fire Point said that FP-7 had moved on to military testing. Company CEO Iryna Terekh уточняла that by that time the missile had undergone ground and laboratory tests, then flight tests, and by the beginning of August — about 15 test launches.
Terekh also said that FP-7 was based on the design solutions of the Soviet 48N6 surface-to-air missile for the S-300 and S-400 systems, although, in her assessment, the similarity to the original design is about 20%.
