Private draft
Yelena Morgunova, the wife of artist and actionist Pavel Krisevich, was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest after being detained on August 28 in Skopin, Ryazan Oblast. Lawyer Natalia Tikhonova said that in the special detention center the woman was humiliated, blackmailed, and FSB officers demanded “operational cooperation” from her.
In the video published by Mediazona, lawyer Natalia Tikhonova said that six FSB officers came to Morgunova in the special detention center and, according to her, behaved “monstrously” and “inhumanely”.
Tikhonova claims that the woman was insulted, subjected to “dirty jokes” directed at her, and was offered to find a new husband “among their own”. She also said that they tried to force Morgunova to “hack private messages on her phone”.
According to the lawyer, FSB officers demanded that Morgunova “must cooperate operationally”, but it is still unclear in connection with which case this is required. Tikhonova also said that the woman was threatened and “blackmailed with her parents”.
The lawyer added that the officers also abused Morgunova’s dog: they pulled its leash and tried to throw it out onto the street. Yelena Morgunova was detained on August 28 in Skopin, when the bus she was riding in with her mother was stopped under the pretext of checking documents.
Then the court sentenced her to 10 days of administrative arrest on charges of disobeying the security forces’ demands after she refused to unlock her phone. Morgunova temporarily returned to Russia from France, where she lives with her husband; Pavel Krisevich himself, in a comment to Meduza, called his wife’s detention “a form of pressure”.
