«United List» won 42 seats and set a record in the Latvian Saeima elections

Private draft

The moderately conservative “United List”, represented by Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, won the Latvian Saeima elections. According to preliminary data, it will receive 42 of the 100 seats — a record for a single political force in the entire history of the Latvian parliament.

As of 10:25, 99.9% of the votes have been counted. The “United List” has secured the support of about 35% of voters and is preliminarily receiving 42 mandates.

Another 17 seats are preliminarily going to the “Latvia First” party, 15 to the “Sovereign Power / Union of Young Latvians” list, 10 to the National Alliance, nine to the “Progressives”, and seven to “New Unity”.

Voter turnout was 51.8% and became the lowest in the entire history of Latvian Saeima elections.

The previous record for the number of mandates belonged to “Latvian Way”, which won 36 seats in 1993. At that time, it surpassed the result of the Latvian Social Democratic Workers’ Party, which won 32 mandates in the 1925 elections. In the previous parliamentary elections in 2022, “New Unity” won, receiving 26 seats in parliament.
