The Third Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that Ukrainian soldiers used ground-based kamikaze robotic systems against Russian troops for the first time in Donetsk region. According to the corps, they were delivered to the battlefield by bomber drones, and the operation was named “Vivaldi”.
As reported by The Moscow Times, the Third Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that ground-based kamikaze robotic systems were used against Russian troops for the first time in Donetsk region. The corps claims the robots were delivered to the battlefield by bomber drones and dropped more than 10 km deep into territory controlled by Russian units.
Ukrainian soldiers called this “a new stage in the war of deploying ground robots”. According to them, the operation was named “Vivaldi”, and the new tactic is called “Griffin” — after the callsign of one of the missing Ukrainian soldiers.
The corps claims that after landing, the combat vehicles, equipped with cameras, moved independently through positions, searched for targets, and attacked them. They also said that the video shows strikes on Russian positions.
Corps commander Andriy Biletsky said that in the second phase of the “Vivaldi” operation, more than 800 Russian soldiers were killed, and total Russian Armed Forces losses exceeded 3,000 people. He also said that during assault operations, “UAVs and NRKs always go ahead of the infantry”.
According to Biletsky, over the past few weeks the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to liberate more than 125 square kilometers of territory. He added that in the Lyman area of Donetsk region, Sredne, Derylove, and Shandryholove were liberated.
