The Tomsk Regional Court on September 11 annulled the registration of Yabloko’s list in the elections for deputies to the Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast.
The lawsuit against the party, which ran its campaign under the slogan “For peace!”, was filed by LDPR. Yabloko’s press service announced the decision.
The party said that the Tomsk lawsuit almost repeated the claims on the basis of which Yabloko’s federal list was removed from the State Duma elections on August 10. At present, 118 single-mandate candidates out of 135 previously registered continue to take part in this campaign.
Before this, the registration of Yabloko’s lists in regional elections was annulled in Karelia, Pskov, Kaliningrad, and Sverdlovsk oblasts. In July, the St. Petersburg Election Commission refused to register the party for the elections to the city legislative assembly, and on August 13 in Leningrad Oblast they refused to register the party’s oblast-wide list for the elections to the regional legislative assembly.
Now the registered Yabloko list remains only in the regional elections in Novgorod Oblast. At the same time, on September 9 the local election commission annulled the registration of Anna Cherepanova, Yabloko’s deputy chair and the leader of the list in the elections to the Novgorod Regional Duma.
The party noted that candidates are still campaigning in six more regions. In addition to Novgorod Oblast, where Yabloko is represented by a list and 12 single-mandate candidates, 13 single-mandate candidates are running in St. Petersburg, 12 in Karelia, 18 in Sverdlovsk Oblast, 10 in Pskov Oblast, 7 in Tomsk Oblast, and 2 in Kaliningrad Oblast.
The day before, the party presented supporters with a “Plan B” for the State Duma elections. Voters are being asked to invalidate the party-list ballot on September 20 by marking more than one square, and in a single-mandate district — if there is no Yabloko candidate there.
