The FSB detained Izhevsk activist Dmitry Morozov; he was accused of drug possession

Private draft

Izhevsk activist Dmitry Morozov, whom the FSB detained on October 2, has been charged with drug possession. The day before, he won through court a different place and time from the Izhevsk administration for a rally against election fraud.

This was reported in a Telegram channel created in support of the activist by his girlfriend, Daria Bagina. According to her, on the evening of October 1 Morozov left home and disappeared, and in the morning FSB officers brought him in for a search.

Bagina claims that after the search all his equipment was seized, Morozov himself was taken away, and at first his lawyer was not allowed to see him. Later, according to her, it became known that a criminal case had been opened against the activist, and the security forces allegedly found drugs in a locker in his room.

According to Bagina, Morozov faces up to 10 years in a penal colony. She also said that he lived with his parents to help care for his ill grandmother.

The 27-year-old Morozov sought permission from the Izhevsk authorities for a rally against election fraud, which was planned for October 3. On September 24, he wrote that the city administration had refused the action, citing the emergency condition of the Monument to the Friendship of Peoples, where the activists were going to gather.

On October 1, Morozov said that the court had ordered the Izhevsk administration to allocate another place and time for holding a rally for fair elections. It is also reported that his lawyer was finally allowed to see him.
