The debt of JSC «BSMZ» to Bank «Saint Petersburg» has risen to almost 7.5 billion rubles

Private draft

By the end of 2025, the debt of JSC “BSMZ”, linked to St. Petersburg businessman Ilya Traber, to Bank “Saint Petersburg” had risen to almost 7.5 billion rubles. The company directed part of the loans toward developing Traber’s port assets in Ust-Luga and Primorsk.

In 2023, JSC “BSMZ”, linked to Ilya Traber, opened a credit line at Bank “Saint Petersburg” for 5 billion rubles in the form of two loans. The repayment term for both loans was 36 months, meaning they were to be repaid in May 2026. The collateral was the company’s property.

At the same time, BSMZ invested 400 million euros in the development of Traber’s port complexes in Ust-Luga and 100 million dollars in Primorsk. The port complex in Primorsk is one of Traber’s main assets.

In November 2024, BSMZ took out another loan from the same bank for almost 1.2 billion rubles, again secured by its own property. In January 2025, the company refinanced all three loans and continued to pledge property. By the end of 2025, its debt to Bank “Saint Petersburg” had reached almost 7.5 billion rubles.

In August 2026, while in pre-trial detention, Traber transferred 31.66% in the company “Primorsky UPK” to his partner Ramis Deberdeev. At the same time, Deberdeev’s entire stake — 67.83% — ended up pledged to “Fortis-Invest”, whose co-owner is Vladimir Sklyarevsky, the bank’s senior vice president.

“Fortis-Invest” manages the closed-end mutual investment fund “Fortis Seventeenth”, to which in January 2025 BSMZ assigned the right to claim a debt from “Primorsky UPK” in the amount of at least 900 million rubles. On September 8, 2026, BSMZ pledged its own property worth 1.5 billion rubles to “Fortis-Invest”. Traber spent 72 days under arrest, after which he was cleared of charges in the case involving the organization of a contract killing, and Vladimir Danilenko was released from pre-trial detention along with him.
