The Amur River level in Komsomolsk-on-Amur rose to 606 cm
Private draft
The Amur River level near Komsomolsk-on-Amur reached 606 cm by Monday morning and exceeded 6 meters. There is no flooding of housing, transport, utility, or social infrastructure in the city.
The head of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Dmitry Zaplutaev, said in a channel in the Max messenger that by Monday morning the Amur River level near the city had reached 606 cm. According to him, over the past two days the river rose by 3 and 2 cm respectively, and near Khabarovsk the water level has been falling for several days already and the rate of decline is increasing.
A level of 450 cm is considered unfavorable for this section, and 650 cm is considered dangerous. Zaplutaev called the situation in the city under control and separately noted that there is no flooding of housing, transport, utility, or social infrastructure.
At the same time, heavy rain is expected in the evening and at night. The city head warned that against the backdrop of the high Amur level, the storm drainage system may come under pressure and fail to cope with the large amount of precipitation.
In this regard, it was decided to block the storm sewer outlets into the river in the area of Internatsionalny Avenue, Mira Avenue, and Pionerskaya Street. At the intersection of Pionerskaya and Dzerzhinsky streets, commissioning of the installed pump will be carried out, and with the start of rain, water will be pumped from the storm drain into the Amur, while utility services will check the manhole grates during the day on the street and road network sections most prone to flooding. Other work will also be carried out in the city.
The hydrological situation on the Amur in Khabarovsk Krai began to worsen in late July and in August. Dachas, yards, and roads in settlements located on the river are already flooded in the region.
