Rybakov in St. Petersburg criticized Navalnaya and Katz’s voting strategy

Private draft

Yabloko leader Nikolai Rybakov, at a meeting with supporters in St. Petersburg, criticized the voting strategy for the State Duma elections proposed by Yulia Navalnaya and Maxim Katz. He called the appeal to vote for any party except United Russia and to look for the strongest candidate in the districts “human meanness”.

The video from the meeting was published by the Varlamov News Telegram channel. According to SOTAvision journalists’ count, about 1,300 people took part in the meeting, and one of those present asked about Navalnaya’s and Katz’s proposals; the hall greeted it with applause.

The joint recommendations of Yulia Navalnaya and Maxim Katz propose voting by party lists for any party except United Russia, and in single-mandate districts — for the strongest candidate who can oppose the ruling party. Rybakov responded with these words: “You applauded the fact that you are calling on me to commit human meanness and do it yourselves”.

Then the Yabloko leader said that the authorities are sending his comrades to prison for 11 years, while supporters are now being asked to back in the elections people whom he linked to the deaths of people in Russia and Ukraine. According to him, these proposals end in deaths and prison sentences, and Navalnaya and Katz are abroad and are “manipulating” voters.

Rybakov separately called on people to support Yabloko candidates in single-mandate districts. For voting by party lists, he called the option of spoiling the ballot “Plan B”.
