Russian retailers are launching tenders for concrete shelters against UAVs

Private draft

Russia’s largest retailers have begun posting tenders for concrete shelters to protect facilities from drones. This was noted by Verstka: the applications mention Pyaterochka, Azbuka Vkusa, Lenta, Magnit, and Komus.

As Verstka writes, Pyaterochka is purchasing the most shelters: the publication found two applications for the installation of 85 concrete shelters at distribution centers in the Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Penza, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, and Tambov regions, as well as in Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais and in Adygea.

Azbuka Vkusa plans to acquire at least 18 shelters for facilities in the Istra district of the Moscow region and in St. Petersburg. The technical specification says that each shelter must accommodate 16–20 people, and the structures must protect against small UAVs, drops from them, and shrapnel.

Lenta plans five shelters at its hypermarket in Novosibirsk, while Magnit is planning 17 protective structures at a distribution center in Krasnodar Krai. Komus wants to obtain a UM-6 type shelter for a facility in Domodedovo, near Moscow.

The exact amounts are not specified in the applications. The day before, The Bell noticed a Wildberries tender for the supply of 478,000 m² of anti-drone metal mesh.
