Reform UK received £36 million from Ben Delo — this is a record donation in Britain

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party received £36 million from crypto billionaire Ben Delo. This is the largest single donation to a political party in the history of the United Kingdom; it surpassed Reform UK’s previous record of £9 million from Christopher Harborne in 2025.

The donation was reported by POLITICO: Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, received the money from Ben Delo. This is the largest single donation to a political party in the history of the United Kingdom and an amount that eclipsed Reform UK’s previous record — £9 million from Christopher Harborne in 2025, another crypto investor.

Delo, already one of Reform’s biggest donors, said he wants to give the party “a level playing field” in the next general election. According to The Telegraph, after this contribution Reform raised five times more money in 2026 than the Conservative Party, and six times more than Labour.

According to POLITICO Poll of Polls, Reform had led in the polls since April 2025, but now trails Labour slightly, which is led by the new prime minister Andy Burnham. Against this backdrop, the party is preparing for possible early elections after unusual by-elections in which Farage defeated the satirical candidate Count Binface, although the next general election is not due until 2029.

Reform UK is now looking for potential parliamentary candidates and has around 100 “star” candidates who are considered ready for the campaign. In recent years, Reform and Farage himself have faced scrutiny over donations and how they were declared, and the party is now under investigation by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of violating foreign funding rules.
