Powerus, linked to Trump’s sons, said it plans to bring Ukrainian drone technologies to the US
Private draft
The American startup Powerus, which is going public through a merger with Aureus Greenway Holdings, backed by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, said it wants to bring Ukrainian and other foreign military developments to the US for the Pentagon. The company’s president, Brett Velicovich, said Powerus is in talks with Ukrainian defense firms and expects to set up production of long-range strike drones.
As The Insider reports, citing Reuters, Velicovich said he wants to make Powerus a “one-stop solution” for the Pentagon and offer foreign technologies “with an American face”. According to him, the company is in talks with Ukrainian defense firms and would like to take up production of long-range strike drones.
Powerus was registered in October 2025, and by early 2026 it still had no revenue. In the first quarter, the company, which assembled a lineup of aerial and maritime drones through acquisitions, sold $1.2 million worth of products.
In March, Powerus unveiled Guardian interceptors, which, according to Velicovich, were developed together with Ukrainians. It was then also announced that Powerus planned to go public through Aureus, and the golf course operator’s shares briefly jumped 24%. The MatrixFold strike quadcopter, however, did not make it among the leaders in the second round of the Pentagon’s $1 billion Drone Dominance program.
Powerus’ merger with Aureus Greenway Holdings, a Nasdaq-listed golf course operator, is scheduled for Thursday, October 1. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump hold an indirect stake in Aureus through the American Ventures fund; after the deal, that fund will own 9.9% of the combined company. In Powerus and among the US president’s sons, they are described as passive investors with no role in management, and Keith Kellogg, a member of Powerus’ advisory board and Trump’s former special envoy for Ukraine, said that “their name on any product at all would never hurt”.
The company also recently announced a contract with the US Air Force worth up to $90 million, a $22.3 million deal to protect energy facilities in the Middle East, and a limited order from Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense. In mid-September, Powerus announced a preliminary agreement with the country’s army and a memorandum with its air force.
