The statistics institute studied the situation in 31 urban agglomerations of Argentina. According to its data, 9.7 million people there live below the poverty line.
At the end of 2025, the number of such residents was 8.5 million.
In September 2025, researchers at the Catholic University of Argentina questioned the scale of the reduction in poverty. They pointed to changes in the methodology for collecting income data and to the formula for calculating the basic basket, based on the consumption structure of 2004–2005.
