Pamfilova reported preventing an attempt to discredit the GAS «Elections» and DEG

According to “Important Stories”, the publication released an investigation into vulnerabilities in the CEC’s new system.

Ella Pamfilova said that the Central Election Commission of Russia had prevented an attempt to discredit the GAS “Elections” and the remote electronic voting system the day before, on September 16. She said it was a “large-scale cyber aggression” that was meant to compromise “everything in the public space”, but this attempt “failed”.

According to the CEC chair, the organizers “got a good knock on the head”, and the commission is ready to repel “further efforts” in order to hold the elections “the way we think is necessary”. Pamfilova also said that “all our ill-wishers” are set on disrupting the elections.

She called the voting process one taking place in “extreme conditions” and said that “the angry Western world has risen up” against Russia. At the same time, Pamfilova did not specify who exactly was behind the attempt or what exactly happened.
