Norway plans to allocate 85 billion kroner to Ukraine in 2027

Private draft

In 2027, Norway plans to allocate 85 billion Norwegian kroner, or about $9 billion, to support Ukraine. This was stated by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre after a meeting in New York with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

According to Interfax, most of this amount will go toward military support for Ukraine. Støre named air defense as the main priority, as well as humanitarian aid and support for Ukraine’s energy sector.

The prime minister stressed that this support is also important for Norway’s own security, as it borders Russia. He also said that the Norwegian government will continue to support initiatives that pave the way for real negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

According to the Norwegian government press service, in New York Støre, Zelensky, and Stubb discussed the intensification of Russian missile and drone attacks, Western support for Ukraine, and the prospect of a full or partial ceasefire. In 2026, the Norwegian government has already allocated 85 billion Norwegian kroner to support Ukraine.
