Nestle and Auchan commented on Putin’s decree on transferring assets to temporary management

Nestle said it takes note of the Russian president’s decree on transferring the assets of “Nestle Russia” to temporary management and is assessing possible courses of action.

The company added that it plans to take all necessary steps to protect its rights and ensure the continuity of business operations in the interests of all stakeholders, above all employees.

The Russian subsidiary of the French Auchan — LLC “Auchan” — continues to operate as usual after Vladimir Putin’s decree. The company said it had sent a request for clarification and did not specify to whom exactly.

They also said that after receiving the information they would be able to provide a more detailed comment. “As of today, the company and all its facilities continue to operate as usual, with no changes whatsoever”, Auchan said.

On the evening of September 17, Vladimir Putin signed a decree under which the assets of the Russian subsidiary of the French Auchan and the Swiss Nestle were transferred to the temporary management of L. E. V. Management. The same decree also transferred to temporary management the shares of Le Montlid, the Russian division of the French Leroy Merlin.

L. E. V. Management was registered in Moscow in October 2024, and its CEO is listed as Andrey Krayushkin. According to Novaya Gazeta Europe, the CEO’s full name and date of birth match those of Major General Andrey Krayushkin of the Interior Ministry, the former first deputy head of the migration department.
