Mosgorizbirkom promised to extend the work of polling stations in Moscow after queues and glitches

Private draft

In Moscow, several polling stations will continue to operate to give voters who did not have time to do so because of queues the opportunity to vote. Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Election Commission Dmitry Reut said that these polling stations will allocate rooms and add those who came to the list on presentation of a passport with registration.

As voters reported, at polling station No. 3462 in Kommunarka, several hundred people got stuck at the entrance. At 20:00 the doors closed, the electronic system froze, and it became impossible to continue voting, although people were not kicked out of the premises.

Reut explained that in Moscow several polling stations will continue to work to receive those who did not manage to vote because of queues. According to him, the stations will allocate rooms for the necessary period of time, and all voters will be entered into the list upon presentation of a passport with registration and will be able to vote.

At polling station No. 10 on Lubyanka, those who remained after the station closed were asked to leave the premises. A commission employee said that “the system with voter data froze”, and then, according to a voter, reported an order from a higher commission to stop voting if the system does not work for more than five minutes.

A malfunction in the electronic system was also reported at polling station No. 1638. At polling station No. 3114 in Shchukino, about 50 people remained outside, and at polling station No. 1390 in Lefortovo, voters were let inside and promised paper ballots.

At polling station No. 1821, people wrote a collective complaint, which has already gathered 150 signatures. Queues at Moscow polling stations in the second half of the day were linked to a mass failure in the paper ballot issuance system, due to which some polling stations suspended voting.
