Monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+ claim that the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Samara oil pumping station in the Samara region for the second time this week. According to Exilenova+, after the attack a large fire broke out on the facility’s premises, and roads in the nearby settlement were blocked.

The Moscow Times reports, citing the monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+, that the Samara oil pumping station in the Samara region was struck for the second time this week. According to these channels, a large fire broke out on the facility’s premises after the attack, and they also publish footage from the scene.

No official reports about the strike on the station have been received yet. The Samara oil pumping station belongs to Transneft and is considered the largest oil transport and distribution hub in Russia.

The facility is used for receiving, storing, and further transporting oil. Its area exceeds 216 hectares, and the tank farm includes 71 tanks with a total capacity of more than 1.6 million cubic meters of oil.

Four main oil pipelines converge at the Samara oil pumping station: Almetyevsk — Kuybyshev, Kaltasinsky — Kuybyshev, Nizhnevartovsk — Kurgan — Kuybyshev, and Gurev — Kuybyshev. Oil from Western Siberia, Tatarstan, Orenburg, and Kazakhstan arrives through the station for further transportation.

The first strike on the station occurred on the night of October 2. At that time, the Samara region was attacked by Ukrainian drones, and in the morning the authorities announced a missile threat and urged residents to seek shelter. In Samara, the movement of ground public transport was temporarily halted.
