Medvedev proposed moving from temporary management of Western companies’ assets to their seizure
Private draft
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev proposed that Russia move from transferring Western companies’ assets into temporary management to their gratuitous seizure. He linked this to the West’s reaction to Vladimir Putin’s decree on transferring the Russian assets of Nestle and Auchan into the temporary management of JSC “L. E. V. Management”.
Medvedev wrote on Saturday in the Max messenger that “it would be better to go further from temporary management of foreign assets”. He added that it is worth recalling the first acts of Soviet power, under which foreign plants and factories were forcibly and gratuitously seized into state ownership, and that “no one ever returned anything to anyone”.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Western countries imposed “total sanctions” against Russian business, hit the interests of millions of Russian citizens, and blocked credit cards. He also stated that in the West cultural ties with Russia were banned and that they are waging a “direct war” against it, supplying the enemy with missiles, intelligence data, and appropriations to support the “Banderite authorities”.
In the same message, Medvedev called Nestle and Auchan a “sacred cow” for European governments. He claimed that the temporary management under the president’s decree caused a “wave of panic” among European governments.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin signed a decree transferring the Russian assets of Nestle to the management of the little-known company JSC “L. E. V. Management”, whose owners have not been disclosed. The same company received into management the Russian assets of AuchanFM Logistics and Bati Logistics, as well as LLC “Le Monlid” — the former “Leroy Merlin”.
