China issued the fourth batch of fuel export quotas in 2026, totaling nearly 4 million tons
Private draft
China on October 28 issued the fourth batch of quotas in 2026 for the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel. The additional allocation brought the total volume of permits to about 40 million tons and returned it to the 2025 level.
China issued the fourth batch of quotas in 2026 for the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel, two sources said. The government allowed the export of another approximately 3.7 million metric tons of fuel, and a third source estimated the new volume at nearly 4 million tons.
The bulk of the quotas went to large state-owned oil companies. This rare additional allocation followed restrictions introduced earlier this year.
Including the new tranche, the total volume of quotas for 2026 rose to about 40 million tons. This figure matches the 2025 level, and market participants had been expecting the fourth batch because the previous one was smaller than expected.
