Konstantin Malofeev spoke about an attempt to recover $10 million in investments in the US after sanctions

Malofeev claims that in March 2014 he invested about $10 million in shares of Strategic Growth Bancorp, and a few months later sanctions were imposed on him for supporting separatists in Ukraine.

According to the businessman, after the sanctions were imposed, his investments were blocked. In 2017, Strategic Growth Bancorp joined a combined group with Sunflower Bank, and Malofeev’s shares were converted into $5.4 million, which, he writes, were confiscated by the US authorities.

Malofeev also claims that in 2023 former US Attorney General Merrick Garland authorized these funds to be transferred to the State Department to help Ukraine. The remaining funds, according to the businessman, could have been appropriated by representatives of the administration of former US President Joe Biden.

In the same statement, Malofeev accused Biden, Garland, and employees of the American prosecutor’s office of creating a criminal group that allegedly stole his money. He also listed two articles that, in his wording, should be charged to this “Biden group”: grand larceny from a bank account committed by an organized group, and organizing the financing of terrorism.

According to Malofeev, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against representatives of the American authorities. Malofeev is the founder of the patriotic Tsargrad TV channel; earlier he regularly made anti-American statements, calling the US a “false empire” and “servants of Satan”.
