In Yekaterinburg, the head of the Yabloko faction in the city duma, Konstantin Kiselev, was detained

Private draft

The police in Yekaterinburg detained the head of the Yabloko faction in the city duma, Konstantin Kiselev. According to the party, the deputy was taken to Police Department No. 5 in the Leninsky District when he was leaving home before the debate on VGTRK-Ural.

Yabloko said that Kiselev is being charged with an administrative offense and suggested that the case may involve a statute on displaying extremist symbols. The city duma deputy was taken to Police Department No. 5 in the Leninsky District of Yekaterinburg.

According to the party’s press service, the detention took place at the exit from his home, when Kiselev was heading to the debate on VGTRK-Ural. Yabloko clarified that he is running in the State Duma elections in single-mandate district No. 169, which covers the center of Yekaterinburg.

In August, the Supreme Court of Russia removed Yabloko’s federal list from the State Duma elections, which will be held in September. The reason for this was a lawsuit by the Rodina party, which accused Yabloko of copyright infringement and illegal payments for election campaigning.

In addition, in several regions of Russia, Yabloko was not allowed to take part in regional elections.
