In Sochi on the night of September 14, Ukrainian drones attacked the city and its suburbs for the second time in a week. According to the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters, five people were injured, including a child; one adult was hospitalized, and the others received outpatient care.
The operational headquarters also reported damage to three private homes and the fall of UAV fragments on several other sites, including in the area of a nonresidential building, a tunnel, and the yard of a private house. Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin said the attack hit several addresses in the Central and Lazarevsky districts and reported fires.
Later, Proshunin said that the city’s infrastructure was not damaged and is operating normally. The Lazarevsky district includes the settlement of Dagomys, which, according to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Supernova, was also attacked by AFU drones.
Supernova and the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind” claimed that Ukraine struck a Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile system, but there is still no confirmation of this. One local resident reported a closed bomb shelter in Dagomys.
The previous time, Ukrainian sea and air drones attacked Sochi on the evening of September 9; at that time, the authorities reported 28 injured. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that overnight Russian air defense and electronic warfare systems “intercepted and destroyed” 399 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones, including in the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Rostov, and Smolensk regions, in Kuban, in annexed Crimea, and over the Black Sea.
