FT: Musk said to Fedorov he does not object to Starlink strikes on targets in Russia

Private draft

Elon Musk, as Financial Times writes citing sources, indicated to former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov that he does not object to the use of drones with Starlink for strikes on targets in Russia. According to the publication’s sources, the White House should make the final decision in such a case.

Financial Times, citing sources, wrote that SpaceX founder Elon Musk told former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov that he was prepared not to object to such use of Starlink. According to the publication, this refers to drones equipped with Starlink satellite communications and strikes on targets on Russian territory.

The newspaper’s sources did not specify when exactly the conversation took place. They also said that the White House should make the final decision.

Fedorov himself declined to comment on the content of his conversations with Musk. He also did not say whether he plans to meet with him during his current trip to the United States.

The Atlantic previously wrote that Fedorov had already discussed with Musk the use of Starlink for Ukrainian strikes on internationally recognized Russian territory. According to the magazine, Musk then replied that this would become possible if U.S. President Donald Trump issued the corresponding order.

At the end of August, Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Musk the Order of Liberty, one of Ukraine’s highest honors.
