Evgeny Nakaznenko, wanted by Russia, moved to France on a humanitarian visa

Private draft

Evgeny Nakaznenko, wanted by Russia, arrived in France in August 2026 on a humanitarian visa. After relocating, he says he began receiving threats on WhatsApp with messages about “deportation from Georgia” and “we kiss you on the cold forehead”.

In a conversation with the Polish Russian-language outlet “Vot Tak”, Evgeny Nakaznenko said that he arrived in France in August 2026 on a humanitarian visa.

According to him, after relocating he began receiving threats on WhatsApp with messages about “deportation from Georgia” and “we kiss you on the cold forehead”.

Nakaznenko is 42 years old. He was born in Russia, grew up in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, then moved to Moscow to do business, and in September 2022 returned to Kazakhstan and opened the Oxford Team language school in Ust-Kamenogorsk; until 2017 he held Kazakh citizenship.

He posted videos on Instagram criticizing the Russian invasion of Ukraine and stories of affected relatives from Chernihiv. In September 2024, he was detained at Almaty airport when he was about to fly to Turkey.

It then became known that, at Russia’s request, he had been wanted under articles on justifying terrorism and spreading military “fakes”. A Kazakh court placed Nakaznenko in an extradition prison, and the country’s authorities annulled his residence permit and later denied him political asylum.

In September 2025, Nakaznenko was released because Kazakh law prohibits holding a person in an extradition prison for more than a year. In January 2026, he flew to Georgia after human rights activists warned of an accelerated extradition of Russians from Kazakhstan; these details were retold by Mediazona from Nakaznenko’s words.
