DNS co-owner Dmitry Alekseev called on Russians to go to the polls and support the “New People” party. He also advised watching an interview with Vladislav Davankov and reading the party’s election program.
Alekseev wrote that “a vote for New People is a vote for normality in Russia”. In the same post, he said he knew about “the elephant in the room”, but did not mention the war in Ukraine directly.
The businessman admitted that after September 20 nothing would “magically change”, but called voting “a small step toward normality”. He rejected arguments that voting was “pointless” or “disgusting”.
In Forbes’ ranking of the richest Russians, Alekseev is in 92nd place with a fortune of $1.6 billion. He has been a member of “New People” for several years and is part of the leadership of the party’s Primorye branch.
Before that, Alekseev headed the Primorye branch of the “Growth Party” and was a member of its federal political council. After the merger of the “Growth Party” with “New People” in April 2024, he said he planned to join the new structure.
By December 2024, Alekseev had already joined the political council of the Primorye branch of “New People”. He also took part in supporting United Russia candidate Oleg Kozhemyako in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
