Journalist Andrey Koshik reported Lovenger’s detention; according to his data, a criminal case on major fraud was opened against him. The Telegram channel Kub Mash also wrote about the detention.
In March 2023, the press service of Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin published a list of recruitment points for mercenaries in Russian cities. Among them was the Kuznya fight club in Anapa at 24 Shevchenko Street. That same month, SOTA reported that Lovenger was linked to the club through regional federations of combat sambo, kickboxing, and MMA, and that he himself, according to the publication, confirmed this in a phone conversation with the editorial team.
According to The Insider, at the same address are registered the private security company Sarmat, in which Lovenger owns 70%, and Sarmat Connect, which he wholly owns. The same article says that Sarmat received more than 60 million rubles under contracts for guarding facilities in Anapa and Novorossiysk, and its revenue for 2025 amounted to about 61 million rubles. Sarmat Connect’s revenue for the same year, according to the publication, reached 102.4 million rubles.
In November 2025, Sarmat Connect signed a 7 million ruble contract with the municipal institution Digital Anapa for maintenance and repair of the integrated video surveillance system. The agreement provided for services until February 2027, but on January 26, 2026, it was terminated by mutual agreement. Lovenger was elected ataman of the Anapa city Cossack society in March 2025, but it is not reported whether the criminal case is connected to the activities of his companies.
