At Pulkovo, 55 kg of natural hair were seized from a passenger from Dubai

This was reported by the press service of the Federal Customs Service of Russia. Inspectors stopped a Russian woman who was walking through the “green” corridor.

In her three suitcases, 15 packages with hair were found. The passenger said she was carrying bioprotein, that is, artificial hair for personal use at the request of an acquaintance.

The examination showed that the seized material is natural human hair. The market value of the goods, according to the Federal Customs Service, exceeds 2.3 million rubles.

The woman faces a fine of up to twice the value of the goods, with possible confiscation. Customs officials remind that items for personal use include only things for personal, family, household, and other needs not related to entrepreneurial activity.

At the same time, customs officers take into account not only the passenger’s own statement, but also the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the items being transported, as well as how often a person crosses the EAEU customs border. The administrative offense report was drawn up after the undeclared goods were discovered.
