Anti-war rally by the «Point of Support» movement held at the Russian Embassy in Seoul

On October 11, an action by the “Point of Support” movement — an anti-war community of Russians in Korea — took place at the Russian Embassy in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Participants came to the diplomatic mission to remember the victims of Russian aggression and demand an end to the war.

The rally was dedicated to the memory of Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya. She wrote about human rights violations, the war in Chechnya, and the crimes of the Russian authorities; she was killed on October 7.

The action also recalled a statement by a UN representative at the Security Council meeting on October 9. According to him, from October 7 to 9, 2026, Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities killed more than 100 civilians across the country, and at least 429 more people were injured.

Participants said the strikes hit residential buildings in Pryluky and Kyiv, as well as passenger buses in Kramatorsk. The movement’s statement says that Russia’s war against Ukraine is not an abstract conflict or a set of numbers in the news, but ongoing violence whose consequences millions of people experience every day.

There, participants also emphasized that geographic distance does not make the Russian Federation’s war crimes any less horrific. They added that they do not have to be Ukrainian to see who the aggressor is and who the victim is, and that silence in the face of crimes is also a position.
