Anna Luginina is accused in a case involving 17 suicide memes

According to the lawyer, Roskomnadzor first became interested in the community, after which the information was passed to the Investigative Committee. Luginina created the public page before reaching adulthood, and the last post in it appeared in October 2023.

Ministry of Justice experts initially found no incitement to suicide in the memes and considered them black humor. Then specialists from the Investigative Committee’s expert center reached the opposite conclusion: they saw demonstrations of methods of suicide, a positive assessment of suicide, and justifications for its necessity.

Luginina does not admit guilt, and the defense argues that the posts were jokes. According to the defense, the administrators did not give subscribers any tasks, and no one was harmed by their actions.

The case materials included a closed case of the suicide of a young man who was subscribed to the public page. At the same time, Luginina and the second administrator were not charged with anything related to his death.

In August, the investigation was completed, but the prosecutor’s office returned the case for revision. The materials are now again under the agency’s approval.
