As reported by The Insider, the American publisher Allerton Press published in 2024 a translation of an article from the “Moscow University Bulletin”. Among the coauthors of the work “Galvanic Correction of Neural Control of the Gaze Setup. Part 2” are listed Katerina Tikhonova, Vladimir Putin’s daughter, and Moscow State University rector Viktor Sadovnichy; Allerton Press also published a translation of the first part of this article in 2019.

Allerton Press was founded in 1971 and specialized in publishing scientific works from the USSR in English, and later from Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union. Since 2006, it has been part of the Pleiades Publishing group, owned by Russian entrepreneur Alexander Shustorovich.

On March 14, 2022, Pleiades stated that it could no longer cooperate with state or state-controlled institutions in Russia and was immediately stopping payments to such organizations. At the same time, the company emphasized that it would continue working with scientists, authors, and editors as private individuals.

Before the start of the full-scale war in 2022, Pleiades listed the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, Novosibirsk State University, the Kurchatov Institute, MEPhI, and Kazan Federal University among its partners. The Allerton Press catalog lists 35 journals, including in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and engineering disciplines. According to Vot Tak, the group still reprints the bulletin of the MSU Institute of Mechanics; Katerina Tikhonova, who defended her dissertation in May 2019 and received a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences degree, heads the Innopraktika research project at Moscow State University and is under sanctions from the United States and other countries.
