A woman on Sakhalin led a five-year-old neighbor boy away from the yard
Private draft
In the Smirnykhovsky District of Sakhalin Oblast, a woman led a five-year-old neighbor boy away from the yard in order, according to police, to “teach a lesson” to his parents. While the search was underway, the child was at her home; later he was returned, and investigators and police began checks.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Sakhalin Oblast reported that the woman later admitted on her own that she had wanted to “teach the parents a lesson for poor control over their son”. According to police, she followed the search in messaging apps and saw that volunteers were looking for the boy.
The parents were the first to report the child missing. At first, they themselves, together with concerned residents, went around the yards, and then police joined the search operation.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that the personnel of the police department were immediately put on alert. Only after law enforcement officers went out to search did the neighbor return the boy, and at the police department she wrote a statement.
The Investigative Committee Directorate for Sakhalin Oblast organized an inquiry, during which the woman’s actions will be assessed for signs of a crime, including under Article 127 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on unlawful deprivation of liberty. An administrative report was drawn up against the mother under Part 1 of Article 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for improper fulfillment of duties for the maintenance and upbringing of minors.
