Two Avenger air defense systems were deployed at Trump’s residence in Florida

Private draft

Two Avenger air defense systems were deployed at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Security measures were tightened amid warnings of increased security threats, and the U.S. Secret Service said it constantly adapts the protection of protected individuals.

This was reported by The Moscow Times with reference to photos from Palm Beach Daily News: two Avenger air defense systems were placed on a floating barge near Mar-a-Lago.

Such systems are mounted on Humvee armored vehicles and equipped with short-range missiles. They are designed to intercept missile strikes and low-flying aircraft.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service said the agency is operating under heightened threats and is constantly adapting security operations, introducing new tools, technologies, and methods to protect protected individuals.

This week, Donald Trump canceled several campaign events in Iowa and Kansas and suggested replacing them with telethons. The day before, the White House said the president still expects to hold in-person events, and a source familiar with his schedule said both rallies will take place on Sunday.

At the request of the Secret Service, the airspace around Mar-a-Lago is restricted during Trump’s visits. According to federal court filings, the agency is also seeking a permanent closure of this zone due to reports of hostile threats, including terrorist ones. In August, several Avenger systems were also seen in Bedminster, New Jersey, where Trump was playing on his golf course.
