Roskomnadzor demanded that «Dozhd» be blocked on YouTube, TikTok, and Telegram

In the document cited by Meduza, it says that Roskomnadzor sent notices about restricting access to the complaint services of YouTube, TikTok, and Telegram, as well as to “Dozhd’s” editorial office. The RKN letter states that the demand came from the Ministry of Justice because the channel violated legislation on “foreign agents”. In addition to the main accounts, the two YouTube projects of “Dozhd” — Drama Queens and “Dozhd. Stories” — are also supposed to be blocked.

The Russian Ministry of Justice declared “Dozhd” a “foreign agent” in August 2021. In March 2022, Roskomnadzor, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, blocked the channel’s website in Russia.

After the block, “Dozhd” suspended broadcasting for several months, and in July 2022 resumed operations in Europe.
