In Ufa, after a nighttime drone attack, the northern industrial zone caught fire
Private draft
In Ufa, after a nighttime drone attack, the northern industrial zone caught fire, and several hotspots are visible in the footage. Sources name the presumed target of the strike differently: “Bashneft-UNPZ” or “Bashneft-Novoil”.
In photographs published by Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channels, several hotspots are visible in the northern industrial zone area of Ufa after the nighttime drone attack. The Insider reported this, citing these images.
Sources disagree on the possible target. The monitoring group “Crimean Wind” names the “Bashneft-UNPZ” plant, while Astra, after examining eyewitness photos, concluded that the fire occurred on the territory of the neighboring enterprise “Bashneft-Novoil”.
Astra suggested that the catalytic reforming unit L-35 was engulfed in flames. Such units produce high-octane components for motor gasoline and hydrogen, which is used in petroleum product refining.
If the equipment is indeed damaged, this could affect fuel output, but the extent of the damage is still unknown. Early in the morning, a drone threat was declared in the republic, and Rosaviatsia imposed temporary restrictions on the reception and departure of aircraft at Ufa airport.
Similar measures were in effect in Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg, and other cities. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the drone raid on Bashkortostan and reported the destruction of drones over the republic, and also said that more than 430 Ukrainian drones were intercepted over 19 regions overnight, without specifying how many aircraft were over Bashkortostan. “Bashneft-Novoil” belongs to “Bashneft”, which is part of “Rosneft”, and together with “Bashneft-UNPZ” and “Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim” forms the Ufa oil refining complex with a total capacity of 23.5 million tons of oil per year.
