Journalist Jamilya Sadrieva sent to trial in a case over «fakes» about the Russian army
Private draft
Journalist Jamilya Sadrieva, who published under the pseudonym Asya Nesoevaya, has become a defendant in a case over “fakes” about the Russian Armed Forces. The case has already been sent to court, and under the article she faces up to 10 years in prison.
As The Insider reported, the case against Jamilya Sadrieva, who was referred to as Asya Nesoevaya in publications, has already been sent to court.
The Investigative Committee of Tatarstan believes that the 22-year-old journalist “publicly disseminated knowingly false information” about the Russian army. According to the investigation, in 2022–2024 she prepared materials about Russian soldiers and sold them to outlets recognized in Russia as “foreign agents” or “undesirable”.
The investigation claims that Sadrieva earned 71,000 rubles from these texts. This is an accusation, not a verdict.
The scandal around Nesoevaya erupted in January 2025, when Holod, Ostorozhno, Novosti, and Novaya Gazeta Europe removed her materials after suspicions of invented characters and fabricated stories. Novaya Gazeta Europe then wrote about “signs of mystification” in one of the texts.
Sadrieva initially insisted that the people in her stories really existed. Later, in a conversation with RTVI, she said that her publications were trolling and said that she feared criminal prosecution.
